Clinical Psychologist MAPS
Annie is a clinically trained psychologist with extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of psychological difficulties experienced by children, families, adolescents and adults.

Annie’s therapeutic work is informed by attachment theory and patterns within families. Annie utilises evidence-based approaches including Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Mentalisation Based Therapy,

Annie has additional training and particular expertise in working with:

parents during the perinatal and early childhood stages (including grief and loss)

adolescents

young adults

difficulties in relationships

attachment disruptions, Borderline Personality Disorder
In 2014 Annie developed the “ACTive Kids” program, targeted to help primary school age children manage strong emotions with the support of their parents. Annie has led research on the effect of social media on mood and self-esteem, and looked at ways to manage some of the difficulties which may arise from this.
Annie facilitates courses for other health professionals in the areas of perinatal, child and family mental health and is a board approved supervisor for other clinicians. Annie has experience working across a range of NGO, government, private and hospital settings.

Coming to therapy can feel daunting, and Annie creates a non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, safe, and comfortable to explore their concerns.
​
Medicare rebates available with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician. Each year, your health professional will be able to refer initially for six rebated sessions and, with review, may refer for an additional four rebated sessions. In reponse to COVID-19, the government has made ten additional sessions available for clients who meet certain conditions.
